With increasing repression and surveillance, the fight for media justice and democracy is more important than ever. For decades, Malkia Cyril has been a leader in the fight for racial justice and the democratization of media. As the Executive Director of Center for Media Justice, Malkia has fought for the digital access and rights of working-class communities and communities of color, including net neutrality. Malkia has ensured that the tools needed to speak truth to power, engage in political discourse and organize are in the hands of the people.
